The Blooming of ToeBlooms

As I sit down to start this blog, I can’t help but think how nice it would be to close my eyes for a few seconds… ZZZZZ… Just kidding. ☺ This blog is something I’ve been meaning to start for a while, as a way to share some insight into my life, and a sneak peek at the passion that drives my business. As the mom of two (almost three) young kiddos, and the founder of a small business, there is simply never a dull moment. So, please forgive me if this blog is disjointed or rambling at times… it goes with the territory!

What an action-packed and wonderful year this has been. I had my second child Lyla (who will turn 1 at the end of this month), quit my job at a PR agency, and started ToeBlooms! I am so thankful for all the wonderful blessings that my family has experienced this year, and for all of these major milestones we have reached together.

The Blooming of ToeBlooms

My name is Hallie. I have a wonderful Husband, Ryan and two amazing children: Jude (2) and Lyla (1), and we are expecting our 3rd (a girl!) on December 21st! My life is crazy, but I could not be happier. I absolutely love being a mom and a wife, but I am enjoying being an entrepreneur as well!

I believe I owe the birth of ToeBlooms to my daughter Lyla. If it weren’t for her little pudgy toes, I would have never started on this wonderful journey. When I say pudgy, I mean perfectly pudgy, by the way!

I would not necessarily say that I am a crafty person… in fact; one of the funniest things about the original toe blooms is that they were all glued together with fabric glue! I couldn’t even sew a button on a shirt if you asked me to! I was so incredibly lost in all of the many fabric stores I visited, if it wasn’t for the wonderful people that worked there I would probably still be standing in the middle of the store staring at all the hundreds of bolts of fabric. At one point, my husband Ryan came home, and I had the entire kitchen table covered in all different types of fabrics and flowers. I know he thought I was crazy but I appreciate that he never let me know that!

I had a really hard time finding a professional seamstress that would help me come up with a pattern. I searched high and low, and finally found someone who I thought would be perfect. On the day the prototypes were supposed to be ready, I went to pick them up and the woman just handed me back all the materials and said she was sorry but it wasn’t going to work. My heart sank, I was so discouraged. I called my mom and just sobbed, and my mom not knowing what to say threw out, “Well your beme (my grandma) could sew some for you.” My sweet grandma had no idea what my mother had just put her up to, but one thing led to another and my grandma was helping me with my toe blooms!

So as you can see, this venture is not only a labor of love, but a family affair, and I am so thankful for the love and support that my family has shown me.

I hope you love ToeBlooms as much as we do, and I would love to connect with all of you so that I can see your little angels in their own ToeBlooms!
